DAY 17: WEDNESDAY

You Do Not Have to Be Needed to Matter

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works,”
Ephesians 2:10 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

It can feel good when people need you. Helping is good. Being dependable is good.

But your worth does not come from becoming the person everyone depends on. Kids can start carrying adult sized emotional jobs without realizing it.

You are not responsible for keeping your parents happy, fixing their relationship, calming every sibling, or making the whole house okay. You do have a part. Your part is to be truthful, respectful, responsible, kind, and willing to repair when you are wrong. That is enough.

God did not ask you to become the savior of your home. Jesus already holds that place.

TAKE A MOMENT

Do you ever feel responsible for making everybody okay? What actually belongs to you?

BUILD IT THIS WEEK

Help with one thing because it is loving, not because you believe everything will fall apart without you.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,

thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.

Help me grow in worth.

Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger. Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it. Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
