DAY 87: WEDNESDAY
A Good No Can Protect a Good Yes
“But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay,
nay:”
Matthew 5:37 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Boundaries help us know what we will and will not participate in.
You can say no to gossip, touching you do not want, a dare, cheating, disrespect, an unhealthy friendship pattern, or something that violates your convictions.
Saying no does not require cruelty. You can be firm and respectful.
If someone refuses to respect a safety boundary, get a trusted adult involved.
Strong boundaries and a soft heart can exist together.
TAKE A MOMENT
Where is it hard for you to say no?
BUILD IT THIS WEEK
Practice a clear sentence: No, I am not comfortable with that. Or: No, I am not going to do that.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.
Help me grow in boundaries.
Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.
Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.
Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
