DAY 6: SATURDAY BONUS
Rest Is Not Being Lazy
“Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a
while:”
Mark 6:31 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
God made people with limits. Rest is not a prize you earn only after you have done everything perfectly.
Your family needs work, chores, school, and responsibility, but it also needs laughter, sleep, play, worship, and time together.
Parents who are growing may be learning to stop carrying everything.
Kids can help by doing their part without being chased, then allowing the house to breathe.
Young men can learn that strength does not mean being constantly busy.
Young women can learn that caring does not mean making sure everyone is okay every second.
Rest gives us room to remember that God keeps working even when we stop.
TAKE A MOMENT
Do you avoid responsibility, or do you have trouble stopping once you start? What is a healthy middle?
BUILD IT THIS WEEK
Do your responsibility today, then choose one good way to rest without guilt.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.
Help me grow in rest.
Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.
Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.
Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
