Love Is Not Something You Have to Earn

“We love him, because he first loved us.”
1 John 4:19 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

God loved first. That changes the order.

You do not obey so God will finally decide you are worth loving.

We respond because He loved us.

In healthy families, love should not disappear every time someone makes a mistake or disagrees.

Correction can happen without rejection. Boundaries can exist without cruelty.

You can help make your home safer by refusing to use affection as a weapon.

Do not ignore someone to punish them.

Do not threaten to stop loving people when you are angry.

Receive God's love today, then show secure love through one kind action that asks for nothing back.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,

thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.

Help me grow in love.

Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.

Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.

Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.
