WEEK 9

DAY 57: MONDAY

Lead Yourself Before You Try to Lead Anyone Else

“First cast out the beam out of thine own eye,”
Luke 6:42 (KJV)

DEVOTIONAL

Leadership begins before anyone gives you a title. It begins with governing yourself.

Can you get up when you need to? Tell the truth when lying would be easier? Do your work? Control your words? Admit when you are wrong?

Young men who hope to lead homes someday begin by learning to lead themselves under Christ now.

Young women also need self leadership because discernment and responsibility belong to every believer.

Your parents are practicing this too.

Do not measure their growth only by what they tell you to do.

Watch for repentance, consistency, and obedience in them, and practice the same in yourself.

TAKE A MOMENT

What do you want authority over someday? What responsibility do you need to learn now?

BUILD IT THIS WEEK

Pick one area of self leadership to practice for the next seven days.

PRAYER

Dear Heavenly Father,

thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.

Help me grow in self leadership.

Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.

Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.

Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.
