DAY 24: WEDNESDAY
Strong Feelings Are Not Always Directions
“Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues
of life.”
Proverbs 4:23 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
A crush can feel huge. Anger can feel certain. Excitement can feel like proof. Fear can feel like a warning. Feelings matter, but feelings are not always instructions.
Growing up means learning to notice what you feel without handing your choices over to the feeling.
Before acting, ask: Is this true? Is it wise? Does it agree with God's Word? What fruit will this choice grow?
This matters in friendships now and relationships later.
Attraction is not the same as character.
Attention is not the same as love.
Intensity is not the same as safety.
TAKE A MOMENT
Which feeling is hardest for you to slow down and examine?
BUILD IT THIS WEEK
Before one decision today, pause and ask: What do I feel? What is true? What is wise?
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.
Help me grow in feelings.
Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.
Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.
Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
