Love That Stayed

“Having loved his own which were in the world, he loved them unto the end.”John 13:1 (KJV)

On the night before the cross, Jesus washed the feet of disciples who would deny, abandon, and betray Him. Among them were Judas’s feet. Jesus showed a love that remains faithful when faithfulness costs something.

Love that stays is not love without wisdom. Jesus confronted sin, withdrew, and did not entrust Himself to everyone. Secure in Christ, we can serve, speak truth, forgive, or set a wise boundary without fear controlling us.

Reflection

Have I confused love with keeping someone happy, or a boundary with bitterness? What does loving like Jesus require here?
