Walking with God · Part 5 of 19

Don’t Run Ahead of Him

“And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken.”Genesis 21:1 (KJV)

Abraham heard God’s promise correctly, but Abraham and Sarah decided how it should happen. Hagar was pulled into the consequences of an outcome they tried to manufacture while waiting became uncomfortable. Yet God saw her in the wilderness.

Direction does not give us permission to invent God’s timing or method. God fulfilled His promise as He had spoken. We can trust Him with the outcome and walk only the step He has actually given.
