DAY 21: SUNDAY

COME AND RECEIVE

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for bringing this woman through another week.

You have been doing deep work in her. You have been teaching her how to remain anchored when the water is troubled, how to receive peace when peace feels unfamiliar, how to separate her worth from being needed, how to consider her capacity before accepting responsibility, and how to let You heal what she once learned to cover.

Today, I pray that she simply comes to You.

As she gathers with the church, quiet the pressure to perform spiritually. Let her worship without wondering whether she is doing enough. Let her listen to Your Word without immediately turning everything she hears into another assignment.

Give her something she needs today.

Encouragement.

Correction.

Comfort.

Conviction.

Hope.

Whatever You know she needs, prepare her heart to receive it.

And if her children are beside her, Father, meet them too. Let them begin recognizing that church is not simply somewhere their mother takes them. It is part of their own walk with You. Let them hear something that speaks to them, ask their own questions, worship with their own voices, and begin developing a faith that belongs personally to them.

Teach this mother to lead them toward You without believing she must create their relationship with You.

She plants.

She waters.

But You give the increase.

Let her rest in that today.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

DEVOTIONAL

It is Sunday.

You have already done enough deep work this week.

Today is not another day to search for cracks, analyze patterns, or figure out what needs to change next.

Today, come.

Jesus said:

“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

There is something beautiful about the simplicity of that invitation.

Come unto Me.

Not fix yourself and then come.

Not understand everything and then come.

Not heal everything and then come.

Come.

Sometimes we become so focused on becoming the woman God created us to be that we forget transformation does not happen because we become incredibly skilled at working on ourselves.

Transformation happens in relationship with Christ.

That is why Sunday matters.

If you have a church home and you are able to attend today, go and gather with the body of Christ.

Let someone else teach.

Let someone else lead worship.

Let someone pray for you.

Sit beneath the Word instead of always trying to figure everything out yourself.

You were never designed to walk with God alone.

And neither were your children.

Your home is incredibly important in their spiritual formation, but their faith needs roots beyond your instruction. They need to see other believers worship. They need pastors, teachers, mentors, and Christian community. They need to discover that the God they encounter at home is the same God being worshipped by the larger body of Christ.

Most importantly, they need opportunities to respond to Him themselves.

You do not have to make today's church service into a lesson afterward.

You can simply ask, “Was there anything that stood out to you today?”

Then listen.

Maybe they have an answer.

Maybe they do not.

That is okay.

Faith does not have to be forced to be growing.

Your job is to keep leading them toward the places where they can encounter God and to live a faith in front of them that shows them He is real.

God will do things in your children that you cannot do.

That should bring relief, not fear.

Because eventually, their faith cannot rest on yours.

It has to become theirs.

So today, let God work in your children.

And let Him work in you too.

You do not have to be the teacher today.

You can be the daughter.

Come and receive.

TAKE A MOMENT

Carry one question with you today:

What does God want me to receive from Him today?

You do not have to answer it before church.

Just remain open.

JOURNAL WITH GOD

There is no journaling assignment today.

If something from Scripture, worship, prayer, the sermon, or your time with God speaks deeply to you, you may write it here so you can remember it.

What do I want to carry with me from today?

YOUR TIME WITH GOD

Let your Sunday service be part of your time with God today.

Worship.

Listen.

Receive.

If conviction comes, do not run from it.

If encouragement comes, receive it.

If something challenges you, carry it with God rather than immediately trying to solve it.

If your children are with you, allow them room for their own experience too. You can talk about church naturally without turning the ride home into a quiz.

Then let the remainder of the day have room.

Eat together if you can. Rest. Laugh. Prepare what truly needs to be prepared for Monday without allowing Monday to consume Sunday.

Tomorrow, we will return to the deeper work.

Today, remember that before you are a mother, a caretaker, a servant, a leader, a worker, or a woman trying to become better, you are someone Jesus invited to come to Him.

So come.

And receive.
