DAY 20: SATURDAY

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HEAL EVERYTHING TODAY

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (KJV)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for carrying this woman through another week.

This week, You have invited her into deeper places. She has looked at peace that remains during storms, the discomfort that can come when peace feels unfamiliar, the difference between being loving and needing to be needed, the importance of capacity before responsibility, and the places where she may have learned to function around wounds instead of allowing You to heal them.

That is enough deep work for one week.

Today, Father, help her resist the temptation to turn healing into another thing she must accomplish.

If yesterday uncovered something tender, remind her that she does not have to understand it all today. She does not have to solve her entire history, repair every relationship, or figure out exactly how every wound affected her.

You are not rushing her.

Teach her to trust Your pace as much as she trusts Your direction.

Give her permission to enjoy this day even while there are still things being healed. Let her laugh without guilt, rest without feeling irresponsible, and enjoy her children without turning every interaction into another opportunity for growth.

Remind her that healing is Your work too.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

DEVOTIONAL

Yesterday, we talked about cracks.

Today, I do not want you looking for another one.

“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (KJV)

Notice who is doing the healing.

He is.

You participate. You tell the truth. You repent when necessary. You establish boundaries. You seek help. You make different choices. You allow God into places you once avoided.

But you are not your own healer.

That matters because women who are accustomed to fixing things can approach healing exactly the way they approach everything else.

Find the problem.

Understand the problem.

Make a plan.

Fix the problem.

Move on.

But hearts do not always work according to our schedules.

Some things heal slowly.

Some things make sense only after time has passed. Some places may need to be revisited later from a different perspective. Something you thought you had completely healed from may become tender again when a new season touches it.

That does not necessarily mean you failed.

It means you are human, and formation is a process.

There is another important truth to practice today: you are allowed to experience joy while something in you is still healing.

You do not have to wait until everything inside of you is resolved before you enjoy your life.

You can still be healing and laugh with your children.

You can still have unanswered questions and enjoy a beautiful day.

You can still be grieving something and notice something good.

You can still be growing and be grateful for who you are becoming.

Healing and joy can exist in the same season.

Let them.

And let your children see that too.

We want to teach them how to process difficult things, but we do not want their lives to become endless examinations of everything that hurts.

Children need room to play.

They need laughter.

They need ordinary Saturdays.

They need moments that do not become lessons.

Sometimes one of the healthiest things you can give your family is a day that is simply allowed to be good.

So let today be lighter.

You have more growing to do.

So do I.

So do your children.

There will be time.

God is not rushing the work.

Neither should you.

TAKE A MOMENT

Notice how you feel today.

Not what you need to fix.

Just how you feel.

If something from yesterday is still sitting heavily with you, acknowledge it and give yourself permission not to solve it today.

Then notice something good that is happening right now.

Receive both truths without forcing either one away.

JOURNAL WITH GOD

Keep today's journaling simple.

What am I willing to let God continue working on without demanding that I understand or resolve it today?

What is something good I want to enjoy today without turning it into another task?

YOUR TIME WITH GOD

Keep this simple too.

Tell God what still feels tender.

Then give it back to Him.

You do not need to spend an hour analyzing it. You do not need to find another lesson hidden inside it. You do not need to make a plan for becoming completely healed by Monday.

Ask Him to continue His work in you.

Then go live your Saturday.

Do what needs to be done, but leave room to breathe. Enjoy your children. Enjoy something for yourself. Laugh if something is funny. Rest if you are tired. Let something unnecessary wait.

Tomorrow is Sunday, and we will make room again for worship, church, family, and receiving rather than doing.

For today, remember that you are not a project that must be completed.

God is forming you over time.

You can participate faithfully in that work without rushing it.

Let Him heal what needs healing.

And let yourself live while He does.
