DAY 20: SATURDAY
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO HEAL EVERYTHING TODAY
“He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (KJV)
MY PRAYER FOR YOU
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for carrying this man through another week.
This week has taken him into deeper places. He has looked at peace during storms, the discomfort of peace when alertness has become familiar, the difference between serving and needing to be needed, the importance of capacity, and the places where he may have learned to function around wounds rather than heal.
That is enough deep work for one week.
Today, help him resist turning healing into another project he needs to master.
If yesterday exposed something tender, remind him that he does not need to understand his entire history today. He does not need to solve every pattern, repair every relationship, or become completely healed before he can enjoy the life You have placed in front of him.
Your Word says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3 (KJV).
You are the Healer.
Teach him to participate faithfully without trying to become his own healer.
Let him breathe today.
Let him laugh.
Let him enjoy his children, family, friends, quiet, sunlight, food, worship, work he enjoys, or whatever good thing You place before him.
Remind him that healing is not only learning to look backward with honesty.
It is also learning to live in the present without constantly expecting the past to repeat itself.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
DEVOTIONAL
Yesterday went deeper.
Today does not need to.
Neither do you.
Psalm 147:3 says, “He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.” (KJV)
Healing has a pace.
A physical wound does too.
You clean it.
Protect it.
Give it what it needs.
Then much of the healing happens while you live.
You do not stand over it demanding visible progress every fifteen minutes.
Emotional healing can be similar.
There is a time to examine.
A time to talk.
A time to repent.
A time to grieve.
A time to seek counsel.
And a time to stop staring at the wound and live your Saturday.
Philippians 1:6 says, “Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it...” (KJV)
God is not finished because you are resting.
That matters.
Sometimes men turn growth into another performance.
I found the problem.
Now I am going to fix it.
There may be practical things to do.
Do them.
But you are not a machine to repair.
You are a person God is forming in relationship with Him.
Some things take time.
Forgiveness may be an act of obedience you choose while your emotions continue healing afterward.
A nervous system may need repeated experiences of present safety before it stops responding as though an old danger is still happening.
Trust may need time to rebuild.
New patterns need practice.
You do not fail because change takes repetition.
Galatians 6:9 says, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (KJV)
Due season.
Not instantly.
So today, do not dig for another wound.
Let God work with what He has already shown you.
TAKE A MOMENT
Ask yourself one simple question:
What would feel genuinely restorative today?
Not numbing.
Not avoiding something urgent.
Restorative.
Then give yourself room to receive it.
JOURNAL WITH GOD
Keep this light today.
What did God show me this week that I want to remember?
What do I need permission to leave with Him instead of solving today?
What would help me feel present and restored today?
YOUR TIME WITH GOD
Read Psalm 147:3, Philippians 1:6, and Galatians 6:9.
Then stop.
You do not need another assignment.
If something from yesterday still feels tender, tell God:
“I trust You to keep working here.”
Then go live.
Be with people you love.
Eat something you enjoy.
Get outside.
Rest.
Move your body.
Laugh.
Do something ordinary.
You do not have to heal everything today.
Let the Healer keep working while you live.
