DAY 38: WEDNESDAY
Guilt Should Lead You Back, Not Keep You Stuck
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins,”
1 John 1:9 (KJV)
DEVOTIONAL
Healthy guilt says, I did something wrong and I need to make it right.
Shame says, I am hopeless and should hide.
Jesus calls us into the light.
When you sin, tell the truth. Ask God for forgiveness. Apologize to the person you hurt. Repair what you can. Then learn and move forward.
Replaying your failure forever is not the same as repentance. Parents need this too.
When they apologize, let their changed behavior matter.
Forgiveness and accountability can exist together.
TAKE A MOMENT
When you mess up, do you hide, blame, excuse, or confess?
BUILD IT THIS WEEK
Practice a complete apology: I was wrong for ____. It hurt you by ____. Will you forgive me? I want to do ____ differently.
PRAYER
Dear Heavenly Father,
thank You for teaching me how to build my life on Jesus.
Help me grow in guilt.
Show me what belongs to me, help me tell the truth, and teach me to respond with wisdom instead of reacting from fear or anger.
Help me notice the growth happening in my family without trying to control it.
Make me someone who brings truth, courage, responsibility, kindness, and peace into the places You have put me.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
