Walking with God · Part 16 of 19

When God Asks You to Wait

“Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart.”Psalm 27:14 (KJV)

David was anointed to become king, then returned to tending sheep. The promise was real, but so was the process. In the cave he had an opportunity to remove Saul, but opportunity was not permission.

Waiting is not wasted time when we wait with God. He may be deepening roots, healing, forming discernment, or teaching us to enjoy His presence. We keep praying, serving, loving, and tending what He has already placed before us.

Reflection

Am I tempted to force a door? What might God be developing in me while I wait?
