Carried Forward

Day 4 of 10 · Companion to Legacy

Tell What You Have Seen

Reads as a complete devotion on its own

Two adults sharing an honest conversation beside an open Bible in warm window light.

“Come and hear, all ye that fear God, and I will declare what he hath done for my soul.”

Psalm 66:16 · KJV

A witness tells what has been seen and known. Christian testimony is not a performance of perfection. It is truthful evidence that Christ entered a real life, met a real need, exposed what was false, extended mercy, and began forming something new.

You do not have to make yourself the hero for your story to matter. The center of testimony is not how strong you became. It is who Christ is. We can speak honestly about failure, grief, deliverance, correction, healing, waiting, or growth while keeping the attention on the Savior who met us there.

Wisdom matters when a testimony includes other people. Honesty does not require public exposure of every private detail. We can tell the truth without using a platform to punish, shame, or reveal what belongs to someone else's dignity. A wise witness knows which details serve redemption and which details merely satisfy curiosity.

An unfinished story can still bear witness. You may not have a clean ending or every answer. You can say, This is where Christ met me. This is what I know now. This is where I am still learning to trust Him. Humility often makes testimony more believable, not less.

Our lives should increasingly support our words. When we fail, repentance becomes part of the witness. An apology, a changed pattern, a repaired responsibility, or a willingness to receive help can show that grace is not permission to remain unchanged. Grace teaches us to return.

Ask God for the right person, time, and measure. Some stories belong in a quiet conversation. Some become encouragement for many. In every setting, let truth be carried with love. The purpose is not to make people remember what you survived. It is to help them see the Christ who is faithful within the story.

Reflect

Sit with the question

What has Christ done in you that could bring hope or truth to someone else? Is there any part of your story that needs more wisdom, healing, or protection before it is shared publicly?

Practice

Take one faithful step

Write a brief testimony in three parts: what was true, how Christ met you, and what He is forming now. Remove any detail that exposes another person unnecessarily, then pray for the right opportunity to share.

Pray

Bring it before God

Jesus, make me a truthful and humble witness. Keep me from hiding what could help another person and from sharing what does not belong to me. Give me wisdom about timing, detail, and audience. Let my words agree with a life that keeps returning to You, and let every testimony point beyond me to Christ. Amen.

Truth to carryMy story serves its purpose when it helps someone see Christ.
