DAY 6: SATURDAY

LEARNING TO RECEIVE REST

“And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while.” Mark 6:31 (KJV)

MY PRAYER FOR YOU

Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank You for carrying this woman through her first week.

She has spent these days becoming still, looking honestly at what she carries, recognizing old patterns, learning to remain in today, and examining where her worth may have become connected to being needed.

Today, I pray that You give her permission in her own heart to simply breathe.

Teach her that rest is not something she earns after she has done enough. Teach her that stopping does not make her lazy, selfish, or unfaithful. Remind her that she has limits because You created her to have limits.

Let today be gentle.

Give her eyes to notice what is good. Give her room to laugh, enjoy her children, receive something beautiful, and allow something unnecessary to remain unfinished.

And in the quiet places, remind her that while she rests, You remain God.

In Jesus’ name,

Amen.

DEVOTIONAL

You have done enough deep work for one week.

Today is not another day to dig.

Today is a day to practice.

Throughout this devotional, Saturdays will intentionally be lighter. Healing and formation need room to breathe, and we are not going to turn these 90 days into another obligation you have to perform perfectly.

Jesus once looked at His disciples after they had been serving and caring for people and said:

“And he said unto them, Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while.” Mark 6:31 (KJV)

Rest a while.

There was still work to do.

There were still people who needed them.

Everything was not finished.

And Jesus still invited them to stop.

That matters.

Sometimes we tell ourselves we will rest when everything is done.

But everything is rarely done.

There will always be another load of laundry, another message, another responsibility, another problem, another thing you could accomplish.

Eventually, we have to learn to stop while something remains unfinished.

Rest is one way we practice trusting God.

It quietly says:

I am not holding the entire world together.

God is.

And if you are raising children, let them see that too.

Let them see you work faithfully.

Let them see you keep your word.

Let them see you take responsibility.

But also let them see you stop.

Let them see that a godly woman does not have to exhaust herself to prove that she loves her family.

And let them rest too.

Not every moment has to become a lesson.

Not every Saturday has to be productive.

Sometimes creating a home means making room for laughter, pancakes, music, blankets on the couch, a walk outside, a game around the table, or a conversation that goes nowhere important.

Those things matter too.

Your children are not only learning faith from what you teach them.

They are learning something about God from the atmosphere in which that faith is lived.

Let there be joy there.

Let there be breathing room.

Let there be rest.

Today, do not search yourself for another thing that needs fixing.

You have the rest of this journey for that.

Receive today.

Receiving may require more courage than giving when giving has always kept you in control. To receive means allowing someone else to contribute without correcting every detail, repaying immediately, or proving that you could have done it yourself. It also means receiving from God without turning grace into another assignment you must earn.

TAKE A MOMENT

Look around you and notice something good that is already here.

Something small counts.

A quiet room.

A child laughing.

A cup of coffee.

Sunlight through a window.

Music.

A comfortable chair.

A conversation.

A meal.

A moment when nobody needs anything from you.

Do not analyze it.

Receive it.

JOURNAL WITH GOD

What is something good God has already placed in my life that I want to slow down enough to enjoy today?

What is one thing I can give myself permission to leave unfinished today?

What would genuinely feel restful or life giving to me today?

YOUR TIME WITH GOD

Keep your time with God simple today.

There is nothing you have to uncover.

Nothing you have to solve.

Nothing you have to accomplish.

Spend a few quiet minutes with Him.

Tell Him thank You for something.

If there is something heavy on your mind, give it to Him.

Then go live your Saturday.

Enjoy something.

Rest where you can.

Be present with the people you love.

And when your mind tells you there is something else you should be doing, remember:

There will be work again.

There will be deeper pages again.

Today, you are practicing something important too.

You are learning to receive rest.
