DAY 27: SATURDAY
LET GOD FINISH WHAT YOU CANNOT
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
MY PRAYER FOR YOU
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for carrying this woman through another week.
You have asked her to look honestly at loneliness, relationships, discernment, identity, and the woman she is becoming. You have reminded her that she cannot build her life around someone's potential, that strong feelings are not always confirmation, that her identity must remain rooted in Christ, and that healthy relationships require formation within her too.
Today, let her rest from examining herself.
Remind her that she is not responsible for completing the work You have begun in her. She can participate faithfully without becoming consumed with her own progress.
If she can see places where she still needs to grow, give her patience. If she is discouraged because something she thought she had overcome appeared again, remind her that growth is not always a straight line.
Let her enjoy the life happening around her today.
Give her permission to be present with her children without evaluating whether she is getting everything right. Let there be laughter, conversation, ordinary moments, and room to breathe.
You are still working while she rests.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
DEVOTIONAL
This week has asked you to look at some important things.
Today, we are not going to add another one.
Saturday is intentionally lighter because becoming the woman God created you to be does not mean spending every waking moment analyzing yourself.
There is a time to examine.
There is also a time to live.
“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:” Philippians 1:6 (KJV)
Read that again carefully.
He began the work.
He will perform it.
You participate in what God is doing. You obey when He corrects you. You repent when He exposes sin. You practice new patterns. You seek wisdom. You make difficult changes when necessary.
But you do not have to wake up every morning and rebuild yourself from scratch.
God is forming you over time.
That matters because even personal growth can become another form of striving. We can become so determined to heal, mature, improve, prepare, and become that we begin treating ourselves like unfinished projects instead of people walking with God.
You are unfinished.
So am I.
So are your children.
And that is okay.
Your children do not need you to complete yourself before you can lead them. They need to see what it looks like to keep walking with God while He is still working on you.
Sometimes that will look like wisdom.
Sometimes it will look like repentance.
Sometimes it will look like saying, “I handled that differently than I would have a year ago.”
And sometimes it will simply look like enjoying Saturday together.
Do not underestimate those ordinary moments.
A home is being formed when everyone is praying together, but a home is also being formed around a dinner table where everyone is laughing.
Faith is being taught when Scripture is opened, but faith is also being demonstrated when Mom can leave something unfinished and remain peaceful.
Children are learning about God when you explain biblical truth, but they are also learning something when they see that following Him does not make life an endless spiritual assignment.
There should be joy here too.
So today, give yourself permission to notice growth without immediately searching for what needs to happen next.
Maybe you are responding differently than you used to.
Maybe you recognize a pattern sooner.
Maybe you are becoming more comfortable saying no.
Maybe you apologize faster.
Maybe you are learning to wait before reacting.
Maybe you are beginning to recognize when fear is speaking.
Maybe you are allowing your children to solve something you would once have rushed to fix.
Notice it.
Thank God for it.
Then keep living.
You do not have to reach the end of your formation today.
God is not finished with you.
That is not bad news.
It means He is still working.
TAKE A MOMENT
Think back over the last few weeks.
Do not look for what is still wrong.
Notice one thing that is different.
Maybe it is something small that nobody else would even recognize.
Thank God for the work already happening there.
JOURNAL WITH GOD
Keep today simple.
Where can I see evidence that God is already changing or strengthening something in me?
What can I stop trying to rush and trust God to continue working on in His time?
What do I want to enjoy with my family or receive from this day?
YOUR TIME WITH GOD
You do not need a long assignment today.
Spend a few minutes thanking God for something He has already done in you.
Then think about your children.
Notice growth in them too.
Not only accomplishments. Look for character. Maybe one of them handled disappointment better, showed kindness, told the truth when it was difficult, took responsibility, asked a thoughtful question about God, showed courage, or tried again after failing.
If you notice something, tell them.
Let them hear you recognize what God is developing in them, not only what they accomplish.
Then let Saturday be Saturday.
Rest where you can. Laugh. Go somewhere. Stay home. Finish something if it genuinely needs finishing, but do not manufacture work because resting makes you uncomfortable.
You do not have to complete the woman you are becoming this weekend.
You only have to remain willing to walk with the One who is forming her.
God is still working.
Let that be enough for today.
