Help the Weekend Become a Way of Life
Within One Week
Contact every participant who requested prayer, pastoral care, counseling information, or help connecting with community.
Contact each person who received Christ and arrange a personal conversation about Scripture, prayer, church community, baptism, and discipleship.
Send the date for the thirty day return before participants leave or within twenty four hours.
Thank volunteers and review any safety, care, schedule, or accessibility needs that arose.
The Thirty Day Return
Offer a sixty minute gathering approximately one month later. Ask participants to bring the sealed letter from Movement 8. Begin with prayer, give fifteen minutes to reread privately, discuss what became clear, and invite one renewed step. Keep the gathering from becoming a performance report. Faithfulness includes repentance, adjustment, asking for help, and beginning again.
Questions for the Host Team
Who needs a place to belong after the retreat?
What existing ministries can support families, singles, new believers, parents, children, and people healing from divorce or loss?
Where can mature believers be equipped to disciple without controlling?
What needs to be strengthened so people can ask questions and receive help outside regular services?
What will we do differently because we gathered?
Scheduling and times are examples and may be adapted. Hosts who would like the material fitted to a specific retreat may email purposeleddiscipleship@gmail.com with the proposed dates, location, audience, available hours, and accessibility needs.
